Volunteer member of the Contingent Employment Study II Task Force organized by the New England Archivists’ Inclusion and Diversity Committee. Activities include developing and designing a survey for contingent archival workers, compiling and analyzing data points from archival job postings, promoting the survey, and presenting a report of survey results and analysis to the NEA Board. Report submitted to the NEA Executive Board, February 2022.

Upon completion of the report for the NEA Board, members presented on survey findings at various professional conferences throughout 2022 and began work on a journal article to present and analyze survey findings for a wider audience. An article analyzing the findings was published in American Archivist, Spring 2024 [article available here].

Audio Transcript Editor

Volunteer for NYU Libraries’ “Soul of Reason” virtual transcribe-a-thon: a two-week project to hand-correct auto-generated transcripts of audio recordings from the “Soul of Reason” radio show using Konch transcription service and following the Oral History Transcription Style Guide from Columbia University’s Center for Oral History Research. These recordings are part of the Records of the Institute of African American Affairs in NYU Special Collections.

Document Scanner and Transcriber

Volunteer scanner and transcriber for the joint NEHGS and Boston Archdiocese project, Massachusetts: Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston Records, 1789-1920. Project duties include on-site scanning and remote transcription of large, bound volumes of handwritten sacramental records.
